Product Compliance Employee / Quality Control

  • Fulltime, 32-40hours per week

Product Compliance Employee / Quality Control

Keep Favorite Gifts on track by complying with laws and regulations! As a Product Compliance Employee / Quality Control you will work at our head office in Tiel, a wholesaler of business gifts and promotional items, active throughout Europe and beyond.

Our range of products is growing and the markets we operate in are expanding. This brings new challenges in terms of compliance. Ensuring quality, safety and compliance with legislation and regulations is of great importance. That is why you and your team ensure that we as an organization meet the correct requirements and associated laws and regulations.

There are different ways to approach this. Is there new environmental legislation? Then you figure this out, in collaboration with colleagues, and translate it into the business. You also like to stay (inter)nationally informed about the latest developments in your field. What you inform your colleagues and the business about.

Advising and informing your internal and external customers about the products is also part of your job. Does a product fail the test? You talk to the Product Managers and the supplier to come up with the best possible solution. You will also have the opportunity to participate in various projects in the field of CSR, BSCI, packaging and toys. Finally, you are responsible for accurately documenting and completing all technical files.

You achieve all this trough close collaboration with you colleagues form Product Compliance and the business.

But your responsibility goes beyond just tasks related to compliance. You will also be involved with the tasks of the Quality department. If a product from our warehouse in Poland is not approved, then you determine what the next steps are. Is it necessary to block stock? Is another larger sample needed? Are the products repairable and what are the costs of this? You decide and consult with the team leader in Poland. They then carry out the action. Ultimately, to have high-quality products in the warehouse. These decisions are, of course, recorded in our system. The combination of structure, the ability to make decisions, and steadfastness are important qualities for this part of your role.

What you're going to do

  • Realization of technical files; preparing technical files and collecting required information such as certificates from internal and external stakeholders and processing and completing required information;
  • Coordination of test reports; instructing an external and accredited laboratory to carry out tests and assess test reports and determine whether products comply with legislation and regulations, BSCI;
  • Monitoring the validity period of certificates and resubmitting samples for expiration of certification;
  • Provision of information; taking and answering questions from internal customers regarding product compliance and informing Product Managers about bottlenecks with (new) products regarding compliance;
  • Advice; to be and remain informed of developments in the field of product compliance with regard to the range of promotional gifts and to collect information and make proposals for the implementation of changed legislation and regulations;
  • Archive management; managing, maintaining an archive and archiving test reports, certificates, correspondence and technical data of articles.
  • Making decisions on quality and capturing: assuming responsibility for the quality of products in our warehouse in Poland. Of course, all in coordination with the team leader in Poland.

Who we're looking for

  • Preferably a completed Bachelor’s degree;
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written (Dutch is an advantage)
  • An accurate and structured working attitude and, if necessary, you are able to switch quickly and provide (practical) advice;
  • A proactive and positive attitude, hands-on mentality and high involvement.
